August is known as National Wellness Month, and in case you missed it, our 2021 Trends Report named self-care, cleanliness and wellness as trends that prominently came on the scene over the last year and are definitely here to stay.
While we celebrate wellness all month long (and should all the time!), we thought this was the perfect opportunity to check out some of the current initiatives, products and trends focused on health, as well as the ways companies are making a splash in this space.
One great example where social media and wellness collided was with Planet Fitness’ “United We Move” campaign. Since gyms were closed back in March 2020 when the campaign launched, Planet Fitness streamed daily, 20-minute exercise classes led by Planet Fitness trainers and celebrities on Facebook Live and YouTube. This campaign allowed gym members to get a sweat sesh in while staying safe in their own homes. What a perfect way to utilize growing tools like live-streaming- another trend set to continue gaining momentum this year and beyond!
According to CB Insights, many U.S. corporations are implementing their own wellness initiatives to transform the consumer experience. By expanding on already-existing product lines, they are capitalizing on the wellness trend. Meatless food, athleisure-wear, organic products, and even automobile wellness technology are all things quickly expanding around us.
Not only are brands capitalizing on wellness for consumers, but overall employee health and work-life balance is becoming a priority in the workplace, too. One of our very own clients jumped in on the trend of wellness, and it’s become a core value at the company ever since. In 2020, we helped our client eFinancial | Fidelity Life launch a company-wide wellness initiative and hydration challenge. While each employee was working from home, they were sent a branded water bottle and instructions to a 7-day challenge that encouraged healthy habits for staying hydrated. Their emphasis on well-being continues with the implementation of a “Wellbeing @ Work” section in the company’s bi-monthly employee newsletter, which shares tips and resources for staying well both in and out of the office.
Here at Mindful Kreative, we practice what we preach. Our team has been enjoying Summer Fridays, where we aim to be out of the office by early afternoon to enjoy the sunshine and time with friends and family. And each member of our team has their own unique way of using this extra “me time.”
