Passionate. Dedicated. Open Minded. Kelsey, Mindful Kreative’s newest intern encapsulates these qualities and many more! She is currently a senior at Point Park University (PPU), studying public relations and advertising.
Internships are all about learning and broadening one’s understanding of his/her field. In this industry, “communications” is a large umbrella that offers many career paths. Of the several categories, Kelsey’s grasp on how advertising works with one’s emotions shows she has what it takes to make a positive impact on the world and raise organizations up to the next level!
At PPU, Kelsey is submerged in many organizations and is gaining a lot of experience. She is the creative director for Bison Media, a student-run agency where she can put into practice her integrated communications skills. She also currently serves as a fundraising coordinator and mentor for Strong Women, Strong Girls, a college mentor program, a member of the American Advertising Federation/Public Relations Student Society of America and a resident educator (RE) at PPU. As an RE, Kelsey has the opportunity to experience event planning and leadership.
As you can tell, Kelsey is really involved with her college community. Although her schedule may seem full, she doesn’t slow down. In fact, Kelsey says she follows a rule of thumb to always reply within 24 hours of receiving an email, text or phone call. Her work ethic is impressive and really stands out to the Mindful Kreative team!
“I’m excited to be working with Mindful Kreative because of the all-female team dynamic and the opportunity to work with diverse clientele,” Kelsey said. One of the perks of interning at a smaller agency is that she will have the opportunity to touch many projects during her time with us and gain tangible experience that will stay with her as she begins her career in communications.
Following graduation, Kelsey is determined to land a job that allows her to have a positive impact on the world. Although she’s not exactly sure what company will start her career, Kelsey is confident that she will move south. She loves traveling and exploring and North Carolina will be her first destination of many.
Mindful Kreative is ecstatic to have Kelsey on the team this semester. We cannot wait to see all she can accomplish and add to her portfolio.
