Mindful Kreative is excited to welcome Ellie Schroeder to the team this semester as our Communications Intern! Ellie is currently a senior at Robert Morris University where she is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in public relations and advertising and master’s in organizational leadership.
Ellie comes to MK with some impressive experience including working as both a marketing intern and Public Relations Manager & Marketing Specialist for the Downtown Neighbors Alliance where she developed marketing plans for four sold-out events. She also honed her creative writing skills as an intern for Pittsburgh Magazine where she wrote about topics like the Pantone color of the year and various Pittsburgh-
related stories. And that’s not all— Ellie also serves as the Head News Editor for RMU Sentry Media, which allows her to get a taste of the world of journalism right on campus.
As a true people person at heart, Ellie embodies what it means to be a communicator.
“I love talking to people and learning about them – their beliefs, backgrounds, interests, or experiences. That is one reason I have loved working in journalism and magazine writing previously,” said Ellie. “The best advice I have ever gotten was to always have conversations. That advice encouraged me to always be open to talking to someone, no matter who they are or what they do.”
In her free time, Ellie loves to wind down on the couch with her husband and her cat to watch movies and new TV shows. Her talents don’t stop at communications; she also plays video games, crochets, and builds scale models. Oh, and she lives on the wild side by riding her motorcycle, too! (What CAN’T she do?!)
If she wasn’t working in communications, Ellie says she would either be working with animals or building robots to launch into space. Her ultimate dream, though, is to start a PR and marketing agency that provides free support to families of crime victims to help them gain media attention and solve cases. The sky is the limit, Ellie!
As she finishes out her senior year in both undergrad and graduate school, Ellie titles this chapter of her life as “Grit,” something we know she’ll bring to our clients’ needs this semester!
